Woke up at 9am and left to student halls straight away. I thought I remembered the fastest way there but managed to get lost again:) What a memory!

Once I got there they had good news for me: I was allowed to get my room already today! Yeehaa! Signed some papers and got the keys for the room. I didn't have my stuff with me as I wasn't very confident about getting to move in already. But I still wanted to check my apartment before returning to my hotel. The room was as small as I expected it to be. They don't have any private rooms here in the student halls as they want to accommodate as many as possible. So I'm sharing a room with some other guy who seems to be Swedish. I guess the office staff doesn't know that you shouldn't put a Swedish and a Finnish guy in the same room as the Ice Hockey World Championship games are played during this semester;) But anyways, in my room I have a bed, a writing desk, a closet, a fridge and a shared toilet. So I got everything I need. Check out the pictures of my room from below. By the way, the room is pretty filthy. I guess the previous owner didn't care much about cleaning. Not that I'm very tidy myself but it would be polite to clean up a little bit before leaving the room for the next person. Damned exchange students!!!

After the room inspection I returned to my hotel. I was very relieved that I wouldn't have to try to find another hotel for next days. Saves me a lot of money. I checked out from my hotel at noon and moved my stuff to the student halls. This time I even remembered the fastest way there. I made a quick cleaning and settled in. By the way, the view from my room is excellent as I can see the sea and the Island behind it! I'm just on the third floor but it's good enough. The rest of the day I spent walking around the Hung Hom area and talking with the one Finnish guy from my University. Got some good advices from him. Tomorrow I will meet this local buddy of mine that was given to me via the PolyU's Buddy Project.
